The purpose of Why Not Bless is to empower, motivate and facilitate the contagious acts of generosity. We believe you are never more like God than when you give — "For God so loved the world that He gave…" (John 3:16).
Why Not Bless was founded by Randy Weeaks after serving more than 25 years as Senior Pastor at Walnut Ridge Baptist Church in Mansfield, Texas. He and his wife Doris had discovered a simple truth that shaped their lives: their greatest joy was blessing the people around them.
When Randy retired in 2018, he started Why Not Bless so that joy could keep moving outward. Today, he and Doris have entrusted the ministry to the board carrying it into its next season — and the mission hasn't changed by a single word.
Meet real needs at real moments — so a hard season doesn't turn into a lost one.
Tell the story, so generosity catches on and spreads far past us.
Bridge the people who want to help and the people who need it — with dignity.
Why Not Bless is led today by Board President Toni Meadows alongside Cindy Boehme and Karen Crow — a small, hands-on board who personally steward every gift and every blessing.
"It began around our kitchen table, with four friends who believed generosity could be a movement."
Why Not Bless has no corporate sponsors. It began around a kitchen table, with four friends providing the seed funding — and it still runs on the generosity of everyday people who believe in the mission.
Gifts of every size keep it going: monthly contributions, one-time gifts, a year-end check. Whatever you give becomes a direct blessing for someone who needs it.
A recognized 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit corporation. All gifts are tax-deductible under Section 170 of the Internal Revenue Tax Code.
No application system. Needs come through churches, ministries and trusted individuals who've already done the screening.
Low overhead means your generosity reaches the person in need — and often inspires them to bless someone else in turn.
Give a blessing, or refer someone who needs one. Either way, you keep generosity moving.
