"My car died the same week rent was due. Someone from my church made a call, and a few days later the repair was just… covered. I never even filled out a form. I sat in my driveway and cried."
Referred by a partner church
Why Not Bless exists to empower, motivate and facilitate the contagious acts of generosity. We turn one gift into a chain of blessings — real help, for real people, delivered through people who love them.
"For God so loved the world that He gave…" (John 3:16). That single idea is the whole ministry. Generosity isn't a program to us — it's a way of living that, once you catch it, you can't help but pass on.
We put real resources into the hands of people at a real moment of need — rent, repairs, groceries, medical bills, a fresh start — so a hard season doesn't become a lost one.
We tell the story. When people see generosity up close, it lights something in them — and the giving spreads far past whatever we could do on our own.
We're the bridge. Trusted churches and ministries know exactly who's hurting; generous people want to help. We connect the two — quietly, quickly, and with dignity.
Why Not Bless doesn't use an application system. We rely on referrals from churches, ministries and trusted individuals who already know the need and have done the screening — so help reaches the right person, at the right time, with no bureaucracy.
A pastor, ministry leader, or trusted friend who knows a person's situation brings the need to us on their behalf.
Because the referral comes from someone close to the situation, the screening is already done. We simply confirm and act.
The gift goes out — often as a surprise. And more times than not, the person blessed becomes the next one to bless someone else.

Every blessing has a face and a story. The three below are sample stories in the right voice — replace them with real ones (names/photos with permission).
"My car died the same week rent was due. Someone from my church made a call, and a few days later the repair was just… covered. I never even filled out a form. I sat in my driveway and cried."
"After my wife passed, the bills got ahead of me. A neighbor mentioned it to her pastor. Why Not Bless kept my lights on that winter — and left a note that just said, 'you are loved.'"
"We were drowning after our son's hospital stay. The blessing didn't just help us pay — it reminded us we weren't alone. Now we look for people we can bless."
Why Not Bless grew out of the generosity of Randy and Doris Weeaks. After more than 25 years as Senior Pastor at Walnut Ridge Baptist Church, Randy retired in 2018 and founded the ministry around one conviction: their greatest joy had always been blessing the people around them.
Today, Randy and Doris have placed the ministry in the hands of the board they trust — and the blessings keep moving outward, one contagious act at a time.
"It began around our kitchen table, with four friends who believed generosity could be a movement — not a budget line."
Why Not Bless is a grassroots ministry. There's no big backer behind the curtain — it started with four friends and a little seed funding around a kitchen table, and it still runs on the generosity of ordinary people.
That's the point. Every gift — a monthly $10, a one-time hundred, a year-end check — becomes a real blessing for a real person. Your generosity is the ministry.
Give in under a minute — securely, with an automatic tax receipt. Every dollar goes toward making generosity contagious.
